Excessive heat advisories and warnings are in effect for the region, and
cooling centers are open in NYC and New Jersey.
Many senior and community centers serve as cooling centers. New Yorkers
can call 311 or log on to www.nyc.gov/oem beginning at 9 a.m. on
Monday, July 17 to fine the nearest cooling center or public pool.
