Business News: After The Bell Report: U.S. stocks end mixed; Nasdaq gains for seventh straight session

9/18/2006 5:00 PM

NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks ended mixed Monday, with the Nasdaq Composite
logging a seventh session of gains, but a rise in oil prices and
cautious trading ahead of a mid-week Federal Reserve meeting on interest
rates limited any significant move to the upside.

Futures Movers: Oil futures bounce higher as output risks remain

Crude futures closed higher Monday as ongoing risks to global production
and a startup delay of a key oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico prompted
the market to recover part of last week's loss, but prices remained
under $64 a barrel on expectations for lower oil demand and strong
production.
