U.S. stocks rise; Dow back above 14,000 on tech earnings
NEW YORK
Stocks marched higher Thursday, with investor enthusiasm about upbeat
earnings in the technology sector, including from IBM Corp., dampened
slightly by renewed worries about subprime mortgages.
The Fed: Subprime-credit woes dominate Bernanke's second day
WASHINGTON
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's second day of testimony before
Congress on the state of the nation's economy and the outlook for U.S.
monetary policy was dominated by concern about the subprime-mortgage
sector.
