U.S. stocks up before Fed minutes, Alcoa report

NEW YORK
U.S. stocks shifted higher Tuesday, with investors looking to commentary
from the Federal Reserve's September policy meeting for clues to future
moves and post-close financial results from blue-chip aluminum producer
Alcoa Inc.

AT&T to pay $2.5 billion for airwaves

WASHINGTON
AT&T Inc. on Tuesday agreed to pay $2.5 billion in cash to buy licenses
for a valuable slice of wireless spectrum suitable for delivering
television to mobile phones.

Yum Brands posts 17% profit rise, raises forecast

LOS ANGELES
Restaurant operator Yum Brands Inc. on Monday posted a 17% gain in
third-quarter profit, helped by strong overseas growth particularly in
China, and raised its full-year forecast.
